Online Baccarat 2018 – Best Guide to UK Online Casino

Baccarat is easily one of the most exciting games to play in any casino, whether you’re in Vegas or playing online. This game is thrilling, can be very high stakes, and yet is quite simple and easy to play. There are only three outcomes to any baccarat game: either the player wins, the banker wins, or they tie. Before we begin, let’s go over some of the basics. When you play the most popular version of baccarat, you can bet that the player will win, that the banker will win, or on a tie. In the game of baccarat, online or not, the banker is not the same as the house. Instead, the player and the banker follow slightly different rules for how they draw the cards. Now that we are clear on that, let’s get into the specifics.

How to Bet on a Game of Baccarat Online

Betting on baccarat is split between the banker, the player and a tie. You can only bet on one outcome at a time. So, for example, you could bet that the player will win this game. You cannot, however, bet that the player or the banker will win. You must choose only one outcome when you place your bet. The bets are always placed before the dealing of the cards.

Baccarat Gameplay: How to Play and Win at Baccarat

In order to win a game of baccarat, the player or the banker needs to score 9 points. Points are the total of the numbered cards on the table. For scoring in baccarat, a 10 and face cards get 0 points, aces get 1 point and all other numbered cards are scored at their number.

The dealer begins by placing two cards down for the player and two cards down for the banker. The totals are taken for the cards. If the total for the cards is over 2 digits, the second number is taken as the score. So, for instance, if the banker’s cards are an 8 and a 7, the total is 15, so the banker’s score is 5.

After the first round, if either the banker or the player has 9 points, that position wins and the bets are paid out. This is known as a natural win. However, should the player or banker have fewer than 9, there are a few other options for continued gameplay.

Drawing a Third Card in Baccarat Online Gameplay

The player and the banker follow different rules to decide if they can draw a final card from the dealer. The player’s hand is always completed first. Should the player have 8 or 9 points after the first round, they cannot draw another card. If the player’s score is 6 or 7, they can draw or stand. Should the player score a 0 through 5 on the first two cards, they will always draw a third and final card.

The rules for when the banker draws a third are slightly more complex and depend on the total score of the player’s hand after the third card draw. Let’s go over some of the variants:

  • When the player’s final card is a 9, ace or face card, and the banker has a score of 0 to 3, then the banker draws, but if he has a score of 4 to 7 then the banker stays.
  • When the player’s final card is an 8, and the banker has a 0 to 2, banker draws, but with a 3 to a 7 the banker stays.
  • When the player’s final card is a 6 or 7, and the banker has a 0 – 6, banker draws, but he stays if he has a 7.
  • When the player’s final card is a 4 or 5, and the banker scores 0-5, banker draws, but he stays with a 6 or 7.
  • When the player’s final card is a 2 or 3, and the banker scores 0-4, banker draws, but he stays with a 5 to 7.

These rules may appear complicated up front, but once you take the time to commit them to memory, you’ll be able to approach the baccarat table with more confidence. In online baccarat, third card draws will happen automatically, so remembering them is just a bonus.

Once all the cards are on the table, the numbers are totalled up and the final scores are decided. Whichever player gets closest to 9 is the winner. If the two players have the same score after the third card is drawn for both, then a tie is declared.

A bet in favour of the player pays out 2 to 1, while a bet for the banker pays out at 95% of the wager. Ties are paid out at 8 to 1. This may depend on which casino you are playing in. Different online baccarat games have different rules as well, so be on the lookout for the best online baccarat games for bonuses and payout ratios.

Now that you’ve learned the rules, it’s time to find the best online casino for you to making some baccarat winnings!
